Estimated minutes and how job totals are calculated
When you set up Expert Fixes capabilities, each fix category includes an optional Estimated minutes field. Inseo combines those minutes with your hourly rates to produce the job total (or min–max range) shown to customers when they compare agencies on an Expert Fix order. Lead fees are separate — this guide is about the work estimate for fixing selected report issues.
Expert Fixes, lead routing, capabilities, and agency pricing setup.
Steps
- Open Partner portal → Fix capabilities. Under Fix areas, each category (for example Technical SEO or Meta data) represents a group of report checks your agency can deliver.
- For each category you enable with We fix, Inseo assigns a default time in minutes. The placeholder in the field reflects the benchmark for your primary platform (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, and so on) from your partner profile.
- Leave Estimated minutes blank when the default is realistic for your team. Inseo uses the platform default for that category.
- Enter a custom number only when your agency typically needs more or less time than the default — for example complex Shopify themes or retainer clients with strict QA.
- Set minimum and maximum hourly rates per platform in the Hourly rates section. Your display currency comes from Partner account.
- For each selected issue on a customer quote, Inseo calculates work cost as: hourly rate × (minutes ÷ 60) × quantity. Quantity depends on the issue type — some fixes are per page, others apply once per site.
- When you provide both a min and max hourly rate, the customer sees a cost range: the total at your minimum rate through the total at your maximum rate, summed across all selected issues.
- Customers see this estimate when picking an agency at checkout and in lead summaries you receive. Keeping minutes and hourly rates accurate helps set expectations before you reveal contact details.
Common pitfalls
- Enabling many categories but leaving hourly rates incomplete — your agency may not appear in routing until capabilities are saved with valid rates.
- Setting very low minutes across the board to look cheaper — underestimates create friction when the real scope becomes clear after contact is revealed.
- Forgetting that platform defaults differ: the same category can use different default minutes on WordPress vs Webflow.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if I leave Estimated minutes empty?
Inseo uses the default minutes for that fix category and platform. You only need to fill the field when your team consistently needs a different amount of time.
Is this the same as the lead fee?
No. The lead fee is a separate charge when you reveal a customer's contact details. Estimated minutes and hourly rates build the scope estimate for the actual fix work the customer is quoting.
Why do customers see a range instead of one number?
If you entered both minimum and maximum hourly rates for the relevant platform, Inseo shows the total at your min rate through the total at your max rate. A single rate produces a single total.
Where do the default minutes come from?
Inseo maintains platform-specific benchmarks per fix category (aligned with report modules). Your partner profile determines which platform stack applies first; you can override any category individually.
