Create a project and run your first scan

A project groups one or more URLs or sites you care about. Starting your first scan establishes a baseline you can compare over time and share with your team.

Projects, scans, navigation, and finding your results.

Steps

  1. From the dashboard, choose to create a new project and give it a clear name (for example the brand or domain).
  2. Enter the primary URL or domain you want analyzed. Confirm protocol (http vs https) matches how users reach the site.
  3. Pick the scan type or module scope that matches your goal (for example a full technical pass vs a focused GEO check).
  4. Start the run and stay on the job page until you see a terminal status such as completed, failed, or partial.
  5. Open the finished report from the project or history list and bookmark the URL if you will return to it often.

Common pitfalls

  • Starting multiple overlapping full-site scans for the same property without waiting for the first to finish can consume quota faster than expected.
  • Using a staging URL that blocks crawlers will produce incomplete results that look like product errors.

Frequently asked questions

How long should the first scan take?

It depends on site size, crawl depth, and current queue load. Large properties can take much longer than a single landing page.

Can I change the seed URL later?

Yes. Create a new run or adjust project settings depending on how your workspace is configured; the exact control labels may vary by version.
